Have you seen Dave Gibson? Sole proprietor of Berkshire Wine Cellars.

INTRODUCTION:
Hello, my name is Brian, a local tech entrepreneur and business consultant. I've known Dave Gibson, sole proprietor of Berkshire Wine Cellars of London, located on Springbank Drive for many years. This included the purchase of many batches of wine as well.

In 2016/17, our conversations focused more on growing Dave's business in the hopes of selling one day. As I am on the same path, I am more than happy to discuss/help anyone looking for such insight. Offering up many no-cost suggestions including a new marketing plan, the creation of Facebook marketing videos, website updates, wedding packages, new logo design, gift certificate design, and helped him launch his MailChimp newsletter. Plus suggested repainting the interior and adding a small bistro table with wine set to the outside of the store to draw in those who are simply walking by. Dave's email response below.

Hi Brian: I'm afraid that I can't afford to buy anything at this point. My sales for October are down more than 50% over the same month last year and my last 4 pays have been reduced by 25%. According to my sales rep the whole industry is way down right now and nobody understands why. I'm going to get an email newsletter out and we'll see if anything is generated by that. I'm sure the biz will come back it's just a matter of time. Not sure about painting this weekend now as I'm not too into it at the moment. I hope to get at it over the next few weeks.

HOW TO HELP:
I already knew Dave wasn't in the best financial situation but didn't realize to what degree. So, I decided to help where possible. After purchasing said bistro table myself, I also assisted with the transferring of Dave's website hosting to my server in order to save him the $250/yr from GoDaddy.

Dave also had a number of domain names (berkshirewinecellars.com, berkshirewines.ca, fermenters.ca, makewinehere.ca and makewinehere.com) which needed to be transferred as well. Additionally, these domain names come with an annual renewal change as well.

Hey Dave, Hoping all is well. I’ve had a couple of your domains auto-renew and wanted to ask of your plans… Simplest would be for you to sign up for an account via https://www.westhost.com (with a credit card on file) and we can then transfer all of your domains to your own account etc. Or perhaps you have another web service company you’d prefer to go with. If easier, email me your credit card info and I’ll whip up you an account on Westhost. ~ No reply from Dave.

Great, thanks Dave! We should also chat about your web and domains sometime. All I’ll need is a credit card # and I can whip up your own account to admin all of your domains etc. Lmk your thoughts.

BOTTOM LINE:
After years of multiple emails, text messages, and verbal requests, his domains were never transferred under his credit card and therefore, their hard cost of $480.90 remains outstanding.
Anyone else getting screwed by Dave?
Thanks for listening. Brian
